Description
This Texas Roadhouse butter chicken skillet recipe brings restaurant-quality flavor straight to your kitchen. It's incredibly easy to make, with everything cooked in one skillet, creating an irresistible richness with tender chicken and a buttery sauce.
Ingredients
1.5 pounds Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
4–5 cloves Garlic, minced
3 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon Fresh thyme
1 teaspoon Paprika
1 teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Black pepper
2 tablespoons Lemon juice
2 tablespoons Olive oil
½ cup Chicken broth
Instructions
- Step 1: Pat your chicken breasts completely dry with paper towels. Then, season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and paprika
- Step 2: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil shimmers, carefully add the chicken breasts. Sear for 5-6 minutes on the first side without moving them
- Step 3: Flip the chicken and cook another 5-6 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer the chicken to a plate and tent with foil
- Step 4: Reduce the heat to medium. Add 4 tablespoons of butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant
- Step 5: Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes
- Step 6: Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, fresh parsley, and thyme. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the butter sauce over the top
- Step 7: Let everything warm together for 2 minutes
Notes
Pound your chicken breasts to even thickness for uniform cooking.
Let the chicken rest after cooking to keep the juices inside.
Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked to 165°F.
