Description

Heart shaped chocolate chip cookies that combine the classic comfort of traditional cookies with a thoughtful presentation. Perfect for various occasions and easy to make with kids.


Ingredients

2 ¼ cups All-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup Granulated sugar
¾ cup Packed brown sugar
2 Large eggs
2 teaspoons Pure vanilla extract
2 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula
  7. Scoop the dough into balls about 2 tablespoons each and place them on the prepared baking sheets
  8. Shape each dough ball into a heart by creating an indent at the top and pinching the bottom
  9. Bake for 9-11 minutes until slightly underdone in the centers
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack

Notes

Use room temperature butter for best results.

Chill the shaped dough for 15 minutes before baking if in a warm climate.

Reshape cookies immediately after baking if needed.
