Ingredients
1 cup Uncooked quinoa
2 cups Milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1/2 cup Water
2 Medium apples, diced
1 1/2 teaspoons Ground cinnamo
1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
2–3 tablespoons Maple syrup or honey
Pinch Salt
1/4 cup Chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse quinoa thoroughly under cold water using a fine-mesh strainer
- Combine rinsed quinoa, milk, water, cinnamon, and salt in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes until liquid absorbs and quinoa is tender
- Stir in diced apples, vanilla extract, and sweetener. Cover and cook for an additional 5 minutes
- Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving
Notes
Use a 2.5:1 liquid-to-quinoa ratio for the creamiest texture.
