Description
This air fryer rotisserie chicken delivers restaurant-quality results right in your kitchen. It cooks in nearly half the time of a traditional oven-roasted chicken, creating incredibly crispy skin while keeping the meat tender and juicy inside.
Ingredients
1 whole chicken (3–4 pounds)
2 tablespoons Olive oil
2 teaspoons Paprika
1 tablespoon Garlic powder
1 tablespoon Onion powder
1 teaspoon Dried thyme
1 teaspoon Dried oregano
1 tablespoon Salt
1 teaspoon Black pepper
1 whole Lemon (optional)
Instructions
- Remove the chicken from the refrigerator and pat it completely dry with paper towels
- Rub the olive oil all over the chicken, coating both the outside and inside the cavity thoroughly
- In a small bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well
- Generously season the entire chicken with the spice mixture, rubbing it under the skin and inside the cavity
- If using lemon, cut it in half and place both halves inside the chicken cavity
- Preheat your air fryer to 360°F for about 5 minutes
- Place the seasoned chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket. Cook for 30 minutes at 360°F
- Carefully flip the chicken breast-side up using tongs and a spatula. Continue cooking for another 25-30 minutes
- Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. The chicken is done when it reaches 165°F in the thickest part of the breast and thigh
- Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving
Notes
Always choose a chicken that fits comfortably in your air fryer basket without touching the heating element.
Patting the chicken dry is crucial for achieving crispy skin.
